Network seminar Care and Aging: An Urban Ethnographic Exploration of People, Places, and Practices. Examples of age friendly architecture and discussions with the network.

Architecture and Aging in modern Europe

The network is concerned with the role that architecture plays in everyday life. The researchers use ethnographic approaches, and methodology used in the artistic practices of architectural research, to collaborate with the elderly and engage in conversations about aging.

The round table discussion will circle around the following topics:

  • The challenge of ageing well at home and in the city
  • The Specific needs of the elderly in the urban space
  • Elderly as a resource in society and urban life
  • Descriptions of visions of age-friendly cities
  • How the built environment enables or hinders a body’s capability
