CEMES expands its activities

CEMES will become a key forum and facilitator of transnational and multidisciplinary research within modern European studies, drawing on three excellent Scandinavian research institutions on both sides of Öresund.

CEMES’ overarching purpose is to coordinate and develop research and education on Europe in an increasingly globalized world, based on an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to the area. CEMES will provide funds and platforms for researchers to develop and discuss their work on Europe, including its relations to other regions of the world, its history, culture, media, politics, religions, philosophy, arts, and literature. The Centre will initiate larger academic events open to all interested researchers from the three partner institutions.

The Centre and its reconstituted Steering Committee consist of researchers representing the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology (Lund University), the Faculty of Culture and Society (Malmö University) and Faculties of Humanities and Theology (University of Copenhagen).

All researchers from these faculties are invited to a CEMES Launch Seminar designed to create links between researchers from the three partner universities and spawn applications from researchers wanting to start CEMES Research Groups. The Launch Seminar will take place at Malmö University on 25 August 2023. Further information will follow soon. Please save the date!

We are thrilled about this opportunity to forge exciting new research connections across Öresund. We hope to see as many of you as possible at the Launch Seminar and as researchers in the new CEMES.
