The aim of the Centre for Modern European Studies is to coordinate and develop research and education in European studies based on a broad interdisciplinary collaborative approach to the field. CEMES provides various platforms for researchers to develop and discuss their research on European history and developments within areas such as, among others, culture, media, politics, international relations, religion, philosophy, literature.

Applications for individual research activities can be submitted, independently from CEMES’ research groups.

The steering group will give special attention to applications regarding:

  • Creative events or projects that rethink the traditional event format.
  • Seed money to facilitate external research applications in the field of European studies as defined in the guidelines.
  • Projects or events that engage with and involve students or courses.
