CEMES Student

CEMES Student is a cross-disciplinary community of students from the three Öresund Universities — Copenhagen, Lund, and Malmö — that have member institutions of CEMES. Our goal is to build and foster a community of students from diverse academic backgrounds who share an interest in topics related to modern Europe.

We focus on enhancing student engagement and interdisciplinary knowledge-sharing between the three universities. The ultimate aim of CEMES Students — and the events we host — is to create a space where students can engage both intellectually and socially across Öresund.

Modern European politics, culture, and history affect us all, often in ways we don’t immediately realize. We aim to be a forum for exploring these influences and ideas through both academic and social events hosted across our universities.

Our past activities include trips to attend CEMES events, hosting discussions surrounding the 2024 European Parliamentary elections, and an EU-themed pub quiz. The only requirement to join is being a student at either one of the Humanities or Theology (Lund University), at the Faculty of Culture and Society (Malmö University) or at Humanities or Theology (University of Copenhagen) as well as an interest in modern Europe and an interest in connecting with other students who share that curiosity.
