Summary

The recurring arrival of refugees has become an undeniable part of European reality. In Jonas Poher Rasmussen’s animated documentary Flee, we are given the face of one of the many refugees. Amin’s memories follow him and his family’s perilous journey from Afghanistan through Russia to Scandinavia in the 1990s.

Bio

Jonas Poher Rasmussen graduated from the alternative Danish film school Super16 in 2010 and has directed films such as Noget om Halfdan (2006), Searching for Bill (2013), and Det han gjorde (2015). Flee has won several national and international awards and was nominated for three Oscars in 2022: Best Animated Feature, Best Documentary and Best International Feature Film.
