The Show Must Go Green. Sustainable practices and opportunities in European screen industry
Two film producers and sustainable screen media experts, Ronny Fritsche and Ege Heckmann, will give talks and two hands-on workshops for students to ensure a direct impact through practice.
The significant environmental impact of screen media production, characterized by a substantial carbon footprint, high energy reliance and heavy waste output, presents a critical challenge for the European film industry. Simultaneously, sustainability initiatives are often viewed as potential impediments to the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of screen media production processes. In response to these challenges, we are launching a comprehensive initiative titled The Show Must Go Green, exploring the European practices and policies that address the environmental crisis within the European film industry.
